Back to School wreath ideas

This week I plan to share some back to school ideas.  I know some of you have a while before you go back (and some of you may have already started).  We start next Monday!
This will be the ladybug's first year of school - she's staring Pre-K.  The lizard will start 1st.
I'm trying to block out all the emotions of my baby starting school
so I will keep myself busy with projects :)

First up,
I saw this adorable wreath on Fancy Frugal Life

I knew I wanted to make something similar,
While I was out shopping for school supplies, I picked up some extra pencils and crayons.
The forms I used were styrofoam (for the bigger one) and floral foam (smaller one).
I cut matching rings out of cardboard.
I used E6000 to attach the cardboard to the forms.
{I added cardboard because I needed a surface that would hold hot glue).

Then it was a matter of adding pencils and crayons.
I'm pretty really bad at measuring so I just eye-balled the placement.
A simple black ribbon makes the wreath 'hangable' :)
I found the cute chalkboard at Joanns (~$2) and painted it red.

I like how they turned out.  I dig the big one a little more :)
I think if I make another one, I'll add the fun neon cap erasers (I used for this bracelet) to the pencils.
You know, to make it 'too cool for school'

Have a great Monday!

WoW. You have done magic with simple Crayons, pencils and chalkboard. I would like to make such.

I'm impressed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that's equally educative and engaging, and without a doubt, you've hit the nail on the head. The issue is something that too few folks are speaking intelligently about. Now i'm very happy that I came across this in my search for something
relating to this.
