reason 133 (STS-133) I love living in Central Florida

Watching picture perfect shuttle launches like this

Growing up in this area, I've been very lucky to see several launches (albeit 60+miles away) and even luckier to actually see one up close.
No matter how many times you see it, it is awe inspiring every.single.time.
Today was no different.
We watched the countdown on tv and ran outside a few seconds after liftoff.
It was a little cloudy so all we saw were the smoke trails - but it was as exciting as ever!

And when the shuttle returns, the sonic booms will shake the windows.
Scares me every time but I love it!

Sometimes we take for granted
the amazing things going on in our 'neighborhood'.
Today reminded me just how kick ass Central Florida is!
What's the coolest thing about your area??

That is really cool! We watched one launch the last time I was in Florida!
I love where I live, because I can get to Pittsburgh in 20 minutes in one direction, yet get to state parks and lakes in 20 minutes the other direction. Of course, I would be happy if it were a bit warmer in the winter! ;)
