my challenge to myself

Come up with cute goodie 'bags' for Halloween, using only things in my house.
I had an idea I wanted to try..can buckets.
I found some empty cans (I even emptied a few expired things - don't judge).
I made sure they were washed clean.
The husband drilled holes near the top on each side.

I had my supplies ready.
Cans, paper (cut to size), glue dots, pipe cleaner & tags (freebies online).

this is the only picture I have of my supplies...I'm sure you've seen them all before :)

The first bucket I made was a ghost...white card stock and some black circles (freehand) for eyes & mouth.  I chose a cute tag from Hello, Good Gravy!
Lelan has the best stuff - check it out!!
Attach the paper to the can with glue dots (double-sided tape would work).
Add the eyes and mouth.
I completed my bucket by threading a pipe cleaner through the holes.
*the edges may be sharp..make sure to flatten if you can.  Also, the end of the pipe cleaner may be sharp.  I twisted the ends several times to 'hide' the tips.*

My second bucket was just green with a cute tag from  Living Locurto

Here they are together...super cute & super inexpensive.

If you don't want to go through the trouble of drilling holes,
here's a super simple one.
Orange card stock and a ribbon.
(I made this today as a quick treat for my aunt)

These are so versatile..
any occasion paper/ribbon/tags & you'll have a great goodie bucket
(for very little $)

So cute! I have used cans to make pencil holders before, but I never thought to make treat buckets with them!

So stinkin' cute! Love the green one and love the orange and gingham ribbon too. I have a thing for black and white check. Thanks for the links too! Super cute idea and I have plenty of cans that are probably out of date. I really should clean out my pantry.

These are sooo cute! I may have to give this a try. They would make adorable Valentine treat buckets as well!

Those are smart and cute and I love your tags. Dang, I've not been saving my cans. I save my glass jars but I just recycle these puppies. I'll have to rethink that!
