ok..corny title but just go with it.
I saw this great tutorial on greenbean crafterole a while back.
fyi - Carrie's blog it so full of great ideas, it's ridiculous!
Anyhoo. I put her 'garden scrub' on my list of projects.
Cut to -- me picking up diapers and milk at Wal Mart yesterday (jealous?)
I saw Dawn Hand Renewal dish soap on sale (2/$4.something).
I grabbed it and came up with my clever 'reNEWing' hand scrub favor idea :)
I had several jars left over from the pumpkin scrub I made for Thanksgiving.
I knew I had enough sugar, so these would be very inexpensive take-aways.
Here's how it went
dump in the sugar (almost to the top)...add soap
Mix it together. *use a knife to mix (makes it so much easier)
You may need to add more sugar/soap to get the consistency you want.
I ended up with a pale pink color
(which makes me think this would be perfect for Valentine's teacher gifts)
Plus it has a great, light scent.
Of course, now I need something extra. I found a great clock face image from
The Graphics Fairy. I resized it and added my cutesy name.
Tied it to the jar with a simple black ribbon.
If you'd like your own tag, here it is with the cutesy name.
Here is it without the name.
{it's cut with a 3" circle punch}
Enjoy!

Thank you soooo much for posting this! I made a small jar of this scrub at Christmas for every female relative I have and most of my friends. They all loved it. With a little creative gift tag attached they were a huge hit!
I really love this idea. I might use it as an activity for my Girl Scouts. Thanks.
I did this and the texture was really wierd
Did anyone have a problem with the sugar settling to the bottom? I have to stir it every time I use it. Did I do something wrong?
Hi i am having same issue with sugar settling on the bottom do i have to add more sugar?
Same issue, sugar settling and having to stir each time. Any suggestions?
Add just a little glycerin to the sugar.
Where do you get glycerin at?
I think you can get it at Michaels or hobby lobby.
Sounds really cool I want to make is there any other problems, it's should be safe for most skin types right?

I found it online at Amazon. It's under $10 here: http://amzn.to/1T36nvX
Do you add the glycerin to the sugar before you add the dish soap? Also can you use other dish soap? I love this idea...
I just made a batch for my mom as a Christmas gift.... of course, I HAD to test it on myself first. I LOVE IT!! Thank you for such a great idea (and so easy to make, too!) :)
Made mine last week, it's still bubbly and it separated, so I added some more sugar and some glycerin. Hope that fixes it up because I wanted to give it as a gift.
I have $28 hand scrub and it settles. Just gonna happen. Yes, that's right I said $28. It was a pity buy. I'm a sucker. It does smell good. It has no soap, just some kind of minty oil. It's yummy, but not $28 yummy.
How long does this last? For example: if I made it early before Christmas, would something happen to it over time to make it non usable?
