O-H I-O candy

I like to make goodies...cookies, cupcakes, brownies..you get the idea.
My husband took the CFP exam this past weekend so I decided
to make him a 'thank God it's over' treat.
He picked Buckeyes.
He's from Columbus (home to Ohio State)
plus he loves some peanut butter and chocolate.

Now I've made them a gazillion times & they always look real homemade :)
I was so impressed by a post on Just Another Day in Paradise
The buckeyes Larissa made looked gorgeous!
no fingerprints, cracks or missing chocolate spots :)

Here are a few shots of mine in the making

my buckeyes - complete with fingerprints, cracks AND missing chocolate spots :)

******************************

My guess is that they both taste pretty much the same = GREAT!  And the bottom line is they were made with love and my husband is gobbling them up!

Also, if you want a clever way to 'gift' these buckeyes..
She gives great instructions how to fancy up a food container
which can be used for any & every occasion.
College football is starting soon..hmmm, I know what hubby's getting!

Here's the recipe I used (minus the shortening)
plus I added a splash of skim milk and a splash of vanilla extract.

 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Head over to I heart naptime w/Chocolate Sundaes
to see what everyone's been up to

Also...check out what's doin' at Buttons by Lou Lou.
She's got a great 'At My House' feature..
.don't you just love seeing how other people live (or is it just me)?

Visit Under The Table and Dreaming Sunday's Showcase...tons of great finds!

and don't forget the Chic Chick Carnival going on...
it's a great way to meet some new 'peeps'!

Oh Becky!! My husband would LOVE them on top of a cupcake!! I made some last Halloween with white chocolate (and added some 'veins' w/red gel) to make eyeballs :)

One of my FAVORITE desserts. I rarely make them because I almost always eat the whole batch all by myself. Mine always look horrible, but who cares as long as the taste SO GOOD!

Yum! We make something similar around Christmas, but we cover the whole thing in chocolate!

I have no idea what they are (being from Australia) but they look absolutely delicious. Peanut butter and chocolate - YUM! Lots of great links there too.

Thanks for joining in again this week. Lou.
