Tell Me Tuesday (what would YOU do)

The lizard and ladybug both have birthdays in May
(4 days apart)
so I am starting my party planning now.
I've asked them - several times - what 'theme' they would like.
"Green" (the lizard) "Purple" (the ladybug) "Pirates" (from both).
As of today, I'm leaning towards a Pirate Theme.
I found these images from Revi Devi via My Graphico.
I love the simple silhouettes.

I have a few ideas for goodies but
I'd really like to know what you would have at a Pirate Party.
Popcorn boxes from Party Starters
Cute poms from Pom Flair?
Anything glittered from The Purple Pug?

oh..the colors I'm planning on using are
red, black, hot pink, black and working in some green and purple :)

I need your input.
(and suggestions of your fave vendors)

Ready.  Set.  Help!!

I am pondering a pirate party also and found these really cute eye patches on Etsy, they would make great favors. The girl patches even have a cute red bow :)

right now because of St. Pat's Day you can find chocolate gold coins that would be cute to include in a treasure chest favor box--also Pirate's Booty popcorn!

We had a pirate party a few years ago. I took an inexpensive styrofoam ice chest and painted it brown, then I glue jewels all over it and called it a treasure chest! I filled it with beads and little trinkets and that was the kiddos party favor at the end of the party:)

We did a pirate theme one year for my son. We had little wooden swords cut out of inexpensive pine wood. Each child got to decorate his/hers. I saw a great cake made with fondant that was a pirate head at:

I also used a lot of ideas from this location:

I did a prate themed party for my 4 year old last summer. we started with a scavenger hunt around the yard. I made up a rhyme that would lead them to a spot which I had earlier hid the next clue, at the end all the kids became pirates and earned their mustache, eye patch, hoop earring, headband, sword(fake of course) and a tattoo. they all loved it. I also made a pirate ship cake with candle cannons. it was a blast!!

I just did a pirate party for my daughter's 3rd birthday two weeks ago. We had a walk the plank game, decorate your own pirate hats and a treasure hunt in our sandbox.

We had smaller kids (2- and 3-year-olds) so we had to keep the games simple. They all LOVED the walk the plank station -- two 2x4s on a blue tarp surrounded by plastic sea creatures. We had them put their hands behind their backs (a la Wendy in Peter Pan) and they had so much fun trying to keep their balance.

Here's much more on our party:

Have fun!

I would definitely have a pirate treasure hunt. You can hide a box filled with gold-wrapped coins!
