I hope you all had a nice Easter weekend
(and the Easter bunny brought you lots of candy).
Last week, I showed you my 2 tiered stands (in the works)...
well - drum roll please
(I don't know how to type that sound).
Here is my version of the Pottery Barn stand
(that The Purple Pug has and I've been drooling over)
What I used - or should I say, my Dad used. He put it together for me.
Wilton cake pan set (bought at Joanns for 50% off = $20.00)
threaded rod
conduit
washers
nuts/bolts
The smallest pan (6") was used as the base.
It hides the nut/bolt at the bottom.
Plus it gives the stand a little height -
in case you want to put greenery, flowers, fabric etc... underneath.
The layers are spaced ~6" apart.
I think once there are cupcakes on it, it will look really REALLY good.

I'm happy with the way it turned out.
It will proudly display cupcakes
at my Pirates & Polka Dots party next month :)

That's a really good idea. I think it would be fun to do with cool textured pans. Oooh, you just gave me a great idea! Also, is there anything that cupcakes don't make look better?

I just saw this on Amanda's feature from serenitynow, and had to tell you that you did a wonderful job on your knock off. I have the PB one, and let me tell you, it is junk. Has not stability to it what so ever. The way you made yours is way better, I would rather have that one!
Well, it's great. But how about some instructions and photos of the how to. It does no good if you're not going to show us how to actually do the project.

I NEED to have this! Seriously, I need a cupcake stand for a party next month and don't want to buy one. But, I sort of agree with Anonymous, I would really, really love a little bit more detail on how to put this together, because I have no idea how to do it! Any extra info (did your dad drill holes for the conduit to fit through?) would be great!

I am late to this party for sure!! :-) I need to re-create this for my craft room. Is the center pipe one piece? Or is it several pieces joined by washers, etc?
