so I saw this super cute centerpiece idea in Family Fun magazine. I knew right away I wanted to try it. I started collecting cans, tubs and toilet paper rolls.
I had to have a few beers to get some bottle tops :)
After a week or so, I had all the supplies.
I used colored tape to cover the toilet paper rolls and some sparkly pipe cleaners to jazz up the legs (and add a robot smile). I painted the 'body' (an empty cotton candy tub) with spray paint for plastic and let the kids decide what parts went where. Heated up the glue gun & 10 minutes later, we had our centerpiece complete with a cup on top to hold our plastic ware. CUTE!

our creation
to make it look similar to the inspiration..you could use an empty peanut butter jar filled with treats - I may need to make another robot :)

Very cute! Is this going to be a regular centrepiece or only used for special occasions? I think after you've tried your next one you should make one for everyone at the table!! Fun.
Thanks for joining in again this week. Lou.
it's for our 4th of July cook-out this weekend. I have enough supplies to make another one...so I'm sure we'll end up with an 'everyday' Robot at our house too!
Very neat - I like the way you used the plastic paint can.
That is adorable! The kids must love it! Post pics from the cook-out:)
That is too cute! I saw that in Family Fun too!! I wish my kids were still into wanting to do projects like that!
Those turned out great. I saw that same one and loved it. I have yet to make one though. Good job getting it done so quickly.
Adorable robots! Great summer activity for the kids!
Thanks so much for adding my birthday button. You are the best!!!
Hugs,
Pam
