I'm dishing it today...

So excited today...my Back to School Bash is in the mix on Catch My Party!!
Catch My Party

 **************************************************
Amanda at Serenity Now - A Mommy's Solution to Staying Sane is hosting a party.  A great party to get to know each other/mingle/chat...
all without having to get dressed up :)
Oh..and FYI - Amanda is HI-larious...check out the rest of her blog
(including her love affair with Mr Darcy  - not the one you think)
Photobucket

Now..onto me!
The topic of the 'dishing it' party is Summer Rewind.

Best activity you participated in this summer
Running a 5k on July 4th.
I went by myself (at god awful early in the morning) and did it!
I even got a kick ass cup for my efforts

Did your family go on any trips this summer?
We didn't go away for vacation...I HATE to fly and having a 4 and 2 year old makes it (almost) impossible for me to not feel guilty getting D-runk before getting on a plane.  The husband would have his hands full & that's just wrong :)  We did, however, spend the night at a Disney resort *one of the great things about living ~20 mins from the 'Happiest Place On Earth' is that you can drive home when you need to.  The kids had a blast & we'll be going back again and again and again.

  Best new recipe you tried.
peanut butter brownie trifle..rot your teeth out good!

Coolest crafty thing you made or home decor thing you tried.
I would say it's the subway art I just did.  I can't believe I've never done it before..it's so simple.  There are so many possibilities - I can't wait to make some more.

Best book or magazine issue you read.
Run Like a Mother...since I started running (this past January), I've fallen in love with it.  Oh..I hate the 'I'm going to die' feeling you get the first few minutes or so...but I'm hooked.  This book touches on 'real' running (from marathoners and newbie runners alike) - peeing on the side of the road, chub rub and all.  Loved it!!

Coolest new (to you) blog you've found.
There are so many...

Your best post of the summer was...?
I don't know that there was a best
but my faves were of the kid's Sesame Street combo party

What's left on your summer to-do list?
get some sneakers for the lizard (w/velcro)...he starts preK on Monday :(
and get a new camera :)

Now it's time to mingle.....

Staci, I am so jealous that you are that close to Disney! Our towncar picked us up in front of the Contemporary resort (long story), so I only caught a glimpse of the castle. :( I want to go back so badly! I've stayed in the Saratoga resort before, but not with kids. Where did you all stay, and would you recommend it?

The running book sounds hilarious...I know a few bloggers who might enjoy that one. Love that trifle picture!!!

Thanks so much for linking up with me. Hope you have fun visiting around at the party. Don't forget to come leave me a comment too. ;)

Staci,
I love your blog and have been following for a few months...but how did I NOT know you live here in Central Florida?! I'm 15 minutes from The Mouse, so you must live near me! Too funny!

Your Seasame Street party was a memorable one for me too, I loved those cupcake pictures!

Good luck with PreK, thats a big step! Glad you enjoyed the summer!!

Okay. First of all, you are so freakin' hilarious! I'm cracking up about the D-runk part! Bahhaaa! So funny! Second of all, how cute are y'all at Disney? Know what's sad? My younger three have never been to Disney. I'm a horrible mother. SIGH!

I can't believe you ran a 5K! I'm so super impressed! I hate just walking on the treadmill at the gym! I need to run so I can lose a few pounds. Myabe after the kids go back to school.....maybe.

Oh mu gracious! That trifle looks absolutely sinful! I've GOT to try that! Then I'll definitely have to start running!

Mmmm, that trifle looks good!!! My kids are the same age - we've been thinking about taking them to Disney sometimes soon...but yes, we'd have to fly! Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer! :)

Hi there! I'm stopping by from Amanda's party.

You might not have done much traveling, but it sounds like you've had a great summer! I am so impressed that you ran a 5K on July 4--good for you!

So nice to meet you!

I walked in a 5k...does that count?
Love those cupcakes and that trifle looks AWESOME. YUM
How cool that you are so close to Disney...color me jealous.

Congrats on the 5K race. Keep it up. Your cupcakes are awesome especially the Cookie Monster one. I'm a blogaholic so Amanda's idea to link to best blogs is making it impossible for me to keep up.

I'm definitely checking out that trifle. My hubby would really, really like it.

Running keeps me sane! It must be hard to run in the summer in Florida with the heat and humidity.
