Holiday Sparkle & Cheer

You may remember, I recently signed on with Pamela Smerker Designs
(home of Party Starters and PS Harvey).
Basically, Pam creates great designs & I get to 'craft' with them.
I LOVE IT!

She recently sent me party shapes from her Holiday Sparkle and Cheer collection.
First off, I love the colors.
There's something so fresh about pinks, greys & blacks for the holidays.
I knew I had to come up with some fun ways to use the tags.
Cupcake toppers/food stakes are a perfect way to use them
but I wanted to do something a little different.

My first thought when I saw the 'cheers' tag was drinks!
So I cut my shape (using a paper cutter) and added a hole (using a hole punch).
I grabbed some twine and..

DSCN6160
super cute drink tags!

Another fun idea, adding the tags to a candle.
I happened to have this peppermint candle so I added the 'sparkle' tag using glue dots.

DSCN6163
I love how it turned out.
These may show up as a few gifts this holiday season!

Speaking of gifts, using the 'for you' tag on a jar full of candy was a no brainer!
(I picked up lots of these jars from Dollar Tree).

DSCN6166
Fill a jar with store bought or homemade goodies,
add one of these tags,
tie up with a bow & you have a fun neighbor, teacher, friend gift.

Check out Pamela Smerker Designs for more great ways to use these printables!
Or get you own HERE & start creating!

Now onto today's treat..from The Organized Parent.
Know someone expecting a baby?
Or someone who just had a little bundle of joy?
I bet they (or you) would LOVE this Diaper Dude diaper bag!

diaperdude

It's a diaper bag designed by Chris Pegula, a design-oriented dad who was looking for a hip bag that was easy to use. So the Diaper Dude was born :)

This diaper bag has sporty messenger styling with tons of storage!
I love that the messenger style (over the shoulder)
gives you the option of NOT putting the bag down!
It's a cool looking, functional bag!
I know the husband would've gladly carried this diaper bag.

If you want this bag...here's how:
1.  Like The Organized Parent on Facebook (leave a comment that you did)
2.  Tell me the craziest thing you carried/carry in your diaper bag.

Elmer's Look for Less challenge (and giveaway)

If you remember, last summer I had the opportunity to work with Elmer's and host a Kid's Craft Camp party.  They provided all the supplies and the kids provided the creativity.
Cut to a few weeks ago.
I was contacted again and presented with a challenge.
The goal was to create something for the home or holidays.

Elmer's sent these supplies
DSCN6048
(foam board, paint pens, exacto knife and glue sticks)
plus a $25 Visa gift card to get some extras.

My first thought was the black foam board looks like a chalkboard.
The lizard loves yellow.  I used the all purpose glue stick to add a few pieces of cardstock (from my stash) to a piece of the board.
DSCN6039
Super simple, super cute 'chalkboard' door sign.

I also wanted to make something a little shiny :)
I picked up some metallic paint (~$4)
I had a stash of clothespins - one of my fave things in the world!

I used the exacto to cut a circle from the foam board.
I added the clothespins.
DSCN6032
and spray painted the entire thing

DSCN6034

And ended up with this...
DSCN6043
I was going for a starburst-y look.

I'm happy with how these projects turned out.
And the only extra that I bought was the Krylon metallic spray paint.

My next idea is to create sconces with the remaining foam board.
I'll be sure to share them when I finish.

In the meantime, Elmer's has generously given me 2 'look for less' kits to giveaway away!
Each kit includes:
·         Black 20x30 Foam Board
·         White 20x30 Foam Board
·         CraftBond All-Purpose Glue Stick
·         CraftBond Repositionable Glue Stick
·         CraftBond Extra-Strength Glue Stick
·         X-ACTO Designer Series Gripster Knife
·         Painters Assorted Colors Set

to enter (up to 2 times)
1. LIKE Elmer's on Facebook (come back and tell me you do)
2. Leave me a comment telling me what you would make if you win

Cyber Monday Giveaway!!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday weekend!
We were busy busy busy & gobbled gobbled gobbled.

I've got another fun giveaway from The Organized Parent

Gloveables! (even the name is fun)
$14.95
DSCN5389

They are cute kitchen gloves that may make housework fun :)
Plus, each purchase of these helps revitalize the community of Choluteca in Honduras.

I actually received 2 pairs of these cuties.
DSCN5388

I enlisted my mother-in-law to do a 'true review' of them.
Here's what she had to say about them...
 They are the perfect thickness.
I use the hottest temp. water when I do hand washing
and the gloves protect my hands from the heat.
The extra length of the gloves which is the cute enhancement of the gloves,
prevents water from splashing into the glove.
If she likes them, so will you :)
if you want to get your hands in some of these Gloveables..
leave me a comment telling me what household chore you hate most!

The winner will be chosen at random.
Deadline is Friday, Dec 2nd
midnite EST
(US residents only)

if you want to go ahead and snap up some of these for holiday gifts,
click on the Gloveables button on the right side & use code 21510 at checkout for a 15% discount. (the discount is good until December 15th)
